A WORKED EXAMPLE
2,000 ordered. Plan the receiving unit.
A brand sources 2,000 bottles packed 20 per carton, giving 100 cartons. Before production, it agrees the product specification, carton labels and whether the order quantity is bottles or cartons. It sends the same pack data to its 3PL and plans an inspection against the approved sample and order. The warehouse should not discover a changed case pack only after the shipment arrives.
