How to Find the Right 3PL Near You

Searching for a 3PL near me is usually the first step when a brand outgrows its garage, its back room or its first small warehouse. The instinct makes sense: you want to see the facility, meet the people handling your product and drive over if something goes wrong. This page gives you the fastest route to that list, with a directory page for every U.S. state and Canadian province, each showing the providers operating there.

Before you shortlist purely on distance, run one check. Pull your last six to twelve months of orders and look at where your customers actually are. A 3PL warehouse near you is the right answer when you are also near your customers, when you receive frequent small inbound deliveries, when your product needs hands-on quality checks, or when you simply want to be able to visit monthly. It is the wrong answer when your customers are on the other coast, because every parcel then crosses the country at zone 7 or 8 rates and takes four or five days to arrive.

For most brands the better question is: which 3PL is near my customers, near where my inventory lands, and within a reasonable trip when I need to visit? That often means a provider one state over rather than one down the road. Our East Coast and West Coast fulfillment center guides explain where the major corridors are and why.

Use the state and province links above to see who operates near you. Each page lists 3PL companies with their facility addresses, services and specialties, and links through to full profiles. If you would rather have the shortlist built for you, Get Matched is free for brands and takes about five minutes.

When a local 3PL is the right call

  • Your customers are local too. Regional brands shipping mostly within a few hundred miles benefit from short zones and fast transit
  • You visit often. New product launches, quality checks and photo shoots are easier when the warehouse is an hour away
  • Inbound is frequent and small. Brands making product locally and dropping off stock weekly save on freight
  • You are moving out of self-fulfillment. Being able to sit with the team during onboarding lowers the risk of a rough transition
  • You sell B2B locally. Retailers, distributors and event venues in your region are easier to serve from nearby

How to Evaluate a 3PL Near You

Once you have a local shortlist, these are the checks that matter more than the drive time.

Distance to customers, not to you

Run your ship-to zip codes against each candidate facility and compare average carrier zone and transit days. A 3PL 40 minutes away that puts most parcels in zone 6 will cost more per order than one three hours away in zone 3 for your customer base.

Visit before you sign

The advantage of a local 3PL is that you can walk it. Look at cleanliness, how inventory is labeled, whether pick paths are organized, how returns are staged and how staff talk about their clients. Ask to see an order picked and packed end to end.

Fit for your order profile

Share your monthly order volume, SKU count, units per order and product dimensions. A local 3PL built for pallet-in, pallet-out B2B work may not run DTC parcel efficiently, and the reverse is also true. Good providers say so.

Integrations

Confirm native integration with your storefront (Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, BigCommerce) or ERP, and ask what happens when an order fails to sync. See our Shopify 3PL guide for what good looks like.

Room to grow

Ask what happens at three times your current volume. Does the facility have space, can they add a second shift, and do they have or partner with facilities in other regions when you need a second node?

Total cost, not headline rate

Compare quotes on an all-in cost per order including storage, account fees, packaging and postage at your real zone mix. Our 3PL pricing guide explains each line item.

Typical 3PL Costs by Region in 2026

Storage and labor vary more by metro than by service. These ranges show how location shifts the same fee.

Pallet Storage (Per Pallet Per Month)

Los Angeles, New Jersey, Bay Area $25 to $50
Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Toronto $18 to $35
Reno, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Columbus $14 to $28
Rural and secondary markets $10 to $22

Pick and Pack (Per Order, First Item)

High-cost coastal metros $3.00 to $5.50
Major inland metros $2.50 to $4.50
Secondary markets $2.25 to $4.00
Additional item, most markets $0.25 to $0.75

Outbound Ground Parcel (Typical 1 to 2 lb)

Zones 2 to 3 (local and regional) $5 to $9
Zones 4 to 5 $7 to $12
Zones 6 to 8 (cross-country) $10 to $18
Regional carrier, short zone 15 to 30% below national

Account and Minimums

Monthly account or WMS fee $0 to $500
Monthly minimum spend $0 to $2,500
Onboarding or setup (one time) $0 to $2,500
Receiving (per pallet) $15 to $40

All figures in USD. Ranges reflect typical U.S. 3PL rates quoted to eCommerce and B2B brands in 2025 to 2026, drawn from RFPs run through 3PL Hub and published provider rate cards. Shipping depends on negotiated carrier contracts, zone mix and package weight. Volume discounts and contract terms apply. Request quotes directly from providers for exact pricing.

Finding a 3PL Near You: Common Questions

What brands ask when they start looking for a local fulfillment partner.

Pick your state or province from the selector at the top of this page, or the list under it, to see every 3PL warehouse and fulfillment company operating there, with facility addresses, services and profiles. You can also browse by metro from the locations page or use Get Matched to have 3PL Hub shortlist providers based on your volume, product and where your customers are.
Close to your customers, in most cases. Postage is the largest line on a fulfillment invoice and it is set by carrier zone, which depends on the distance from the warehouse to the buyer. A 3PL near your customers lowers zones and transit days on every order. Choose a 3PL near you when your customers are also local, when you make frequent small inbound deliveries, or when you need to visit regularly.
Estimates range from 15,000 to 20,000 companies offering some form of third-party logistics in the U.S., from single-building regional warehouses to national networks with dozens of facilities. 3PL Hub lists more than 5,000 3PL locations across the U.S., Canada and internationally, with over 200 providers personally verified.
A fulfillment center is a building. A 3PL (third-party logistics provider) is the company that operates it and provides services such as receiving, storage, pick and pack, shipping and returns. Some 3PLs run one fulfillment center; others run dozens. See our what is a 3PL guide for a full explanation.
It depends more on your metro than on the provider. Pallet storage runs $25 to $50 a month in Los Angeles or New Jersey and $14 to $28 in Reno, Salt Lake City or Kansas City. Pick and pack is typically $2.50 to $5.00 per order for the first item. Postage, packaging, account fees and minimums are added on top. The 3PL pricing guide breaks down each line.
Yes, and you should. Any credible 3PL will host a site visit or, for distant facilities, a live video walkthrough. Ask to see receiving, storage, a pick and pack in progress, the returns area and the shipping dock. How the facility looks on an ordinary Tuesday tells you more than any sales deck.
