An editorial shortlist from the 3PL Hub member network, organized by fulfillment use case. Read the selection criteria and coverage limits before comparing providers.
Unlike most "best 3PL" listicles, we don't fulfill orders, take referral commissions, or let anyone buy a ranking. Picks are drawn from the 3PL Hub member network - providers whose facility footprint, service claims, and integrations we've vetted and confirmed directly, and scored on five criteria: (1) verified facility network and 2-day ground coverage, (2) platform and marketplace integrations, (3) vertical and channel depth, (4) operating history and ownership stability, and (5) brand references and directory engagement. Membership does not buy a position on this list, and no company is ranked higher for paying more. This list does not compare every facility or provider in the directory. Membership limits the selection pool. If a suitable 3PL is not listed here, get matched free and we'll help you compare relevant directory providers.

A family-owned network anchored in Independence, MO and Edgerton, KS — the geographic center of US parcel — with additional sites in Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, and California. Central-US placement turns cheap ground shipping into 2-day delivery for most of the country, which is the whole game for many mid-size brands.
View Smart Warehousing's profile →Low minimums, hands-on service, and pricing that works under ~1,000 orders/month: Atomix Logistics (Oak Creek, WI — micro-pod fulfillment built for startups), ShipCalm (Indiana + California, bi-coastal for small brands), Verde Fulfillment USA (Boise — eco-focused boutique operator), Fulfillment House (Kearney, MO — central-US ground coverage), and OTW Shipping (Salt Lake City — DTC-focused with fast onboarding). Red Stag also takes emerging brands with heavy or high-value products.
Canadian fulfillment has its own carriers, customs, and cost structure — a US 3PL shipping into Canada is usually the expensive way. Canadian directory members: GoBolt (Toronto-area + BC + US, cross-border in one integration), Ecom Logistics (Vaughan, ON — DTC and B2B), ShipHype (Toronto + Richmond BC + US), Evolution Fulfillment (Delta, BC — ecommerce specialists), National Logistics Services (Mississauga — apparel & footwear), Probus Logistics (Markham), Ottawa Logistics, and Navkar Logistics (Winnipeg). Browse all providers on our Canada 3PL hub.
Retail replenishment and wholesale need routing-guide compliance, EDI depth, and chargeback discipline: Capacity LLC (Whitestown, IN + NJ — enterprise beauty & CPG), FIDELITONE (est. 1929 — a century of family-owned distribution), Jay Group (Lancaster, PA — family- and women-owned since 1965, DTC + retail hybrid), Legacy Supply Chain (Indiana + Nevada), PBD Worldwide, AMS Fulfillment (California + Delaware), and Motivational Fulfillment (45 years of CPG and promotional fulfillment in Southern California).
For brands selling beyond North America: Mainfreight (58 locations across the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe — the strongest single-partner global network in our directory), Lansil Global (US + Shenzhen — China-side QC, prep, and fulfillment), RedSky Europe (Ireland — EU fulfillment for North American brands, post-Brexit friendly), Abstrakt Fulfilment (UK), and Liquex Logistics (Melbourne — AU/NZ market entry).
Four filters cut the list fast. Geography: map your order density, then pick node placement that reaches 80–90% of customers in 2 ground days — a Midwest single node or a two-node coastal setup. Channel mix: pure DTC, marketplace (FBM/SFP SLAs), retail EDI, or all three — verify the 3PL runs your mix from one inventory pool. Product profile: weight, dims, lot/expiry control, and hazmat rule out more 3PLs than pricing does. Scale fit: a 200-order/month brand gets lost at an enterprise 3PL; a 5,000-order/day brand breaks a boutique one. Our deeper guides: Shopify 3PLs, DTC 3PLs, and FBM & Seller-Fulfilled Prime 3PLs — or get matched free and we'll shortlist for you.
A third-party logistics (3PL) company stores your inventory and picks, packs, and ships your orders — and often handles returns, kitting, freight, and retail distribution. You keep ownership of the product; the 3PL runs the warehouse operation.
Typical US ranges in 2026: $0.85–$4.00 per DTC order fee, $0.20–$1.25 per additional item picked, $12–$40 per pallet per month for storage, and carrier shipping at the 3PL's negotiated rates. Setup and monthly platform fees range from $0 to a few hundred dollars. Total fulfillment cost for a small parcel typically lands between $7 and $15 per order including shipping.
A 3PL physically handles your inventory in its warehouses. A freight broker arranges transportation between shippers and carriers but never touches or stores your product. Some large 3PLs also offer brokerage, but the core service is different.
All picks come from the 3PL Hub member network and are scored on facility coverage, integrations, vertical depth, operating history, and references. We don't take commissions and rankings can't be bought — the criteria are published above.
Prioritize low order minimums and hands-on support over network size: Atomix Logistics, ShipCalm, Verde Fulfillment, and OTW Shipping are built for sub-1,000-order months. Pick a node near your customer center of gravity, and reassess once you pass roughly 2,000 orders per month.

A 3PL company (third-party logistics provider) handles ecommerce or B2B fulfillment so brands don’t have to operate their own warehouse. The right 3PL company depends on your order volume, vertical, geographic footprint, and integrations — Shopify, Amazon FBA, NetSuite, ShipStation, EDI for retail wholesale.
3PL Hub lists 5,000+ vetted 3PL fulfillment companies — every one verified for business registration, operational addresses, and active insurance. We don’t sell leads. Brands can request quotes from up to five 3PLs at once via Get Matched, and 3PLs only see leads that match their service area and capabilities.
Use the filters below to narrow by capability and request a quote from up to five providers at once. Or browse our directory by state, vertical, or specific capability (FDA-registered, GMP-certified, cold-chain, EDI, FBA prep).
The four factors that separate a fit-for-purpose 3PL from a generic warehouse.
Most brands outsource between 200–500 orders/month. Your 3PL needs the right scale for your order volume, SKU count, average order weight, and growth trajectory. Ask how many active SKUs they manage at peak and request a worked picker-time example for your top 50 products.
Multi-state coverage matters for 1-2 day national shipping. Single-warehouse 3PLs are fine under 1,000 orders/month. Above that, splitting across 2-3 warehouses (typically east + west) reduces zone-based shipping costs by 15-30% and improves transit times.
Generic 3PLs handle generic ecommerce. Specialized 3PLs handle FDA-registered beauty, FSMA food, cGMP supplements, CBD-compliant, ESD-safe electronics, GOH apparel. Pay the premium for specialization if your category requires it — one recall or compliance miss erases years of cost savings.
Confirm native integrations with your cart (Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce), OMS, ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Brightpearl), and EDI partners if you sell retail wholesale. Ask for the integration list, latency for stock updates, and what happens when an integration breaks.
Vertical specialization matters in 3PL. Cosmetics need FDA-registered facilities. Food brands need FSMA. Supplements need cGMP. CBD needs Farm Bill compliance and CBD-friendly carriers. Each vertical below has its own dedicated directory page with capabilities, FAQs, and provider listings.
Most general 3PLs can fulfill simple ecommerce. Specialized providers earn the premium when your category demands compliance, certification, cold-chain, or unusual operational requirements.
Click any vertical below to see vetted 3PLs that specialize in that category, with category-specific capabilities and pricing.
