WAREHOUSE CONTROL & PERFORMANCE
Zero Defects
Zero defects is a quality philosophy emphasizing prevention and conformance to defined requirements. It treats defects as problems to prevent and investigate rather than an automatically acceptable operating allowance.
ZERO DEFECTS IN PRACTICE
- Define the requirementMake acceptable output explicit.
- Prevent known errorsImprove setup, process and training.
- Report and learnInvestigate actual defects openly.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
An accurate target needs honest exceptions.
A team aims to ship every order correctly. When a wrong-unit shipment occurs, it records the incident, protects the customer outcome and investigates the setup. Hiding the error would improve a dashboard while weakening the actual process.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR QUOTE
Agree the requirement before comparing quotes
Use the actual shipment, stock and service requirements. Record the billing unit, included work and responsibility for exceptions.
