SERVICE DESIGN & OPERATIONAL VALUE
Unverified Reviews
Unverified reviews are feedback that lacks a platform’s stated verification marker or has not passed its specified verification process. The label says what was checked, rather than proving whether the experience is true.
UNVERIFIED REVIEWS IN PRACTICE
- Read the policyIdentify the missing verification.
- Assess the contentLook for relevant, supported detail.
- Moderate consistentlyUse transparent review rules.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
A real service without a matched order.
A warehouse customer describes a genuine experience on a directory, but the directory cannot match an online purchase because the service was contracted offline. The absence of a purchase badge does not itself establish dishonesty.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR QUOTE
Agree the requirement before comparing quotes
Use the actual shipment, stock and service requirements. Record the billing unit, included work and responsibility for exceptions.
A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT
Questions about Unverified Reviews
Is an unverified review necessarily false?
No. The label alone does not establish truth or falsity.
Does verification mean the same thing everywhere?
No. Read the platform’s stated process.
Should negative reviews be removed because they are critical?
Use consistent, legitimate moderation criteria and applicable review rules, not sentiment alone.
