Universal Product Code (UPC)
UPC stands for Universal Product Code. It identifies trade items for retail and related processes; the common UPC-A symbol carries a twelve-digit GTIN-12 identifier.

A WORKED EXAMPLE
The unit code belongs in the unit field.
A brand provides separate identifiers for one sale unit and a master case. If the unit code is entered in the case field, a WMS scan can apply the wrong quantity conversion. Review the brand master, labels and vendor documentation before approving the item setup.
