FULFILLMENT & OPERATING CONTROL
Shipping Manifest
A shipping manifest is a grouped record of shipments or cargo for a defined movement, dispatch or carrier submission. Its required fields and legal status depend on the mode, system and purpose.
SHIPPING MANIFEST IN PRACTICE
- Group the movementSelect the dispatch or service.
- Reconcile the listCompare records with physical units.
- Close the handoverSubmit and retain accepted evidence.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
100 listed. 99 handed over.
A daily manifest contains 100 parcel references, but one parcel remains on hold in the warehouse. The team reconciles the exception and follows the carrier process to correct the submission. Reporting 100 physical departures merely because 100 labels were listed would conceal the gap.
