FULFILLMENT & OPERATING CONTROL
Shipment Cut-off Time
Shipment cut-off time is a deadline for a defined shipment-processing event to qualify for a stated dispatch service. Specify whether it applies to order acceptance, release, packing completion or carrier handover.
SHIPMENT CUT-OFF TIME IN PRACTICE
- Define the eventName what must be complete.
- Apply the calendarUse the agreed local time and working days.
- Confirm dispatchReconcile eligible work with actual handover.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
14:00 received. Is it eligible?
A hypothetical service accepts released orders by 14:00 local facility time. An order enters the store at 13:55 but clears a payment hold at 14:10. It misses that release cutoff even though the purchase preceded it. A separately agreed exception might still permit dispatch; record the actual decision rather than rewriting the timestamps.
