ORDER SOFTWARE & INTEGRATION
Order Management System (OMS)
An order management system is software supporting order records and lifecycle coordination. Its implementation can connect channels, availability, allocation, fulfillment requests and customer-service events.
ORDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN PRACTICE
- Map the sourcesIdentify channels, items and order references.
- Control the eventsSynchronize allocation, fulfillment and changes.
- Reconcile the outcomeCompare system status with actual execution.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
An accepted message is not a shipped order.
The OMS sends an order to a warehouse system. It waits for the appropriate execution events and investigates failures instead of marking the customer order shipped merely because the interface accepted the request.
