WAREHOUSE SPACE & HANDLING

Pallet

Reading time
3 minutes

A pallet is a platform used to support goods as a load for handling, storage or transport.

PALLET IN PRACTICE

  1. Specify the platform
  2. Define & identify the load
  3. Check handling compatibility

A WORKED EXAMPLE

One pallet can hold different quantities.

A configured load has 20 cases with 12 eaches per case: 240 eaches on the pallet. Removing five cases leaves 180 eaches on a partial pallet. The platform is still one pallet, but the inventory quantity and possibly the billing treatment have changed.
