DOWNSTREAM SUPPLY & ORDER EXECUTION
Forward Logistics
Forward logistics coordinates goods moving toward downstream users through supply, storage, order execution and delivery. It is commonly contrasted with return or recovery flows.
FORWARD LOGISTICS IN PRACTICE

- Execute the orderCoordinate picking, packing and transport.
- Confirm the outcomeTrack the defined delivery milestone.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
A transfer supports a later customer order.
Stock moves from a central facility to a regional node before a customer places an order. The transfer supports the forward supply plan even though it is not itself final customer delivery. Later fulfillment and delivery need their own records.
