SHIPMENT MESSAGES & EVENT ACCURACY
Dispatch Confirmation
Dispatch confirmation is a message or record communicating that a shipment has reached a defined dispatch milestone. It commonly carries shipment identity, carrier and tracking information.
DISPATCH CONFIRMATION IN PRACTICE
- Define the triggerChoose the actual dispatch event.
- Match the shipmentSend the correct parcels and tracking details.
- Reconcile delivery dataCheck acknowledgements and later exceptions.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
A notification fires too early.
A WMS creates a label at 11:00 and sends a dispatch email. The parcel misses the collection and stays overnight. The email’s successful delivery does not make the shipment dispatched. The team changes the message wording or uses a verified handoff trigger.
