PROCESS CHANGE & DIGITAL SYSTEMS
Digitalization
Digitalization uses digital tools and connected information to change how a business process operates. In logistics, it can redesign receiving, inventory control, order execution or transport coordination.
DIGITALIZATION IN PRACTICE
- Map the workflowIdentify delays, handoffs and control needs.
- Design the processConnect systems with accountable decisions.
- Measure the outcomeCheck service, accuracy and effort after launch.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
From scanned paperwork to controlled receipt.
A team replaces a paper receipt process with scanned identifiers, validation against an expected inbound order and an exception queue. Scanning the old document alone is digitization. Changing the workflow so discrepancies are reviewed before receipt confirmation is part of digitalization.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR QUOTE
Agree the requirement before comparing quotes
Use the actual shipment, stock and service requirements. Record the billing unit, included work and responsibility for exceptions.
