IDENTIFICATION & PACKAGING
Carton
A carton is a packaging container, commonly a paperboard or corrugated box, used to hold or transport products.
CARTON IN PRACTICE
- Define the contents
- Select the packaging
- Measure the packed carton
A WORKED EXAMPLE
Six cartons can mean different quantities.
Six sealed cartons containing 12 eaches represent 72 eaches. Six outbound cartons containing mixed products do not have that same conversion. Record the actual pack configuration for the SKU and distinguish it from the number of parcels leaving the warehouse.
