Bundling

Also called
Product bundle
Reading time
3 minutes

Bundling combines products into an offer sold together. Fulfillment may use a preassembled physical pack or a virtual bundle whose components are picked when ordered.

BUNDLING IN PRACTICE

  1. Define the offerList products, quantities and sellable identity.
  2. Choose the stock modelSpecify virtual or preassembled fulfillment.
  3. Reconcile executionVerify contents, substitutions and returns.

Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

One A plus two B. Twenty bundles.

A virtual bundle contains one unit of A and two units of B. Twenty orders require 20 A and 40 B. If only 30 B are available, the component limit supports 15 complete bundles even if A is plentiful. A preassembly process would instead consume those components and create identified finished stock. Either approach needs controlled quantities and clear availability rules.

Questions about Bundling

Is bundling the same as kitting?

They can overlap, but bundling describes the offer while kitting describes an assembly or grouping activity.

Does a bundle always need its own stocked SKU?

No. A virtual bundle can consume component stock at fulfillment, subject to system design.

Can one missing component block the bundle?

Yes. Complete-bundle availability depends on every required component and its approved quantity.
