A WORKED EXAMPLE
Six crates. Six identifiable shipping units.
A manufacturer ships six machinery crates as individually handled cargo. Each crate has its own identification, packed dimensions, weight and handling information. The receiver reconciles all six pieces and their visible condition. One aggregate weight on a document would not identify which crate was missing or damaged. The example describes record control, not an approved lifting or securing plan.
