A sponsored ad is paid promotional placement on a platform or publisher. The advertiser selects an eligible format and targeting or placement method under that provider’s rules.

SPONSORED AD IN PRACTICE

  1. Choose the objectiveDefine the audience and offer.
  2. Set the campaignUse approved targeting and budgets.
  3. Review the resultAssess spend and supported outcomes.

Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.

A WORKED EXAMPLE

Clicks without enough contribution.

A hypothetical campaign spends $100 and is attributed $300 of sales. That is a sales-to-ad-spend ratio of three, before product, fulfillment, returns and other costs. It does not establish $200 profit or prove that every attributed sale was incremental.
