PROMOTIONAL FULFILLMENT & SAMPLE CONTROL
Dry Sampling
In promotional marketing, dry sampling distributes packaged product samples for recipients to take away and try later. It differs from a prepared on-the-spot trial or tasting, often called wet sampling.
DRY SAMPLING IN PRACTICE
- Define the campaignSpecify sample, audience and distribution route.
- Prepare sample stockControl units, packs and applicable product requirements.
- Reconcile distributionTrack issued, returned and unusable samples.
Use the agreed units, actual records and approved procedures for your operation.
A WORKED EXAMPLE
1,000 samples prepared. 850 distributed.
A campaign starts with 1,000 packaged samples, distributes 850 and returns 150 unused. Those quantities reconcile the physical campaign stock. They do not establish how many recipients tried the product or how many subsequent sales the campaign caused.
