GoBolt Acquires Stalco: A Win for Canadian Fulfillment
GoBolt’s acquisition of Stalco is a signal that Canada’s eCommerce fulfillment landscape is entering a new era. This move pairs Stalco’s three decades of operational excellence with GoBolt’s technology-driven, sustainable supply chain network. It’s scale, experience, and innovation coming together in one of the most important logistics corridors in North America.
For nearly 30 years, Stalco has been the go-to gateway for international health, beauty, and wellness brands looking to reach Canadian consumers. From regulatory management and customs clearance to same-day fulfillment, Stalco built a reputation on reliability, innovation, compliance, and speed. Their Health Canada Site Licensed facility has long been a cornerstone for brands managing imports, storage, and labeling of natural health products across the country.
My Connection to Stalco
I had the privilege of working at Stalco from 2018 to 2020 as Director of Sales under former owner Steven Page. During that time, I helped win incredible brands like Charmed Aroma, LUS Brands, RX Bar, and AdvoCare, all of whom benefited from Stalco’s precision and customer-first approach. Later, as VP of Business Development at Canada Cartage, where Stalco had become part of the CCLS (Canada Cartage Logistics Solutions) division, I had the opportunity to oversee Stalco from a broader strategic lens.
More recently, I was proud to play a role in facilitating the introduction between GoBolt and Stalco through 3PL Hub, helping connect two companies that, in many ways, complement each other perfectly.
Why This Move Makes Sense
Stalco, operating out of 50,000 sq. ft. in Toronto, has always been an operational powerhouse. 60,000 shipments a week, 7-day fulfillment operations, and a deep specialization in regulated categories like health and beauty. GoBolt, on the other hand, represents the future of fulfillment: technology-led, carbon-neutral, and built around data-driven visibility.
As Mark Ang, CEO and Co-founder of GoBolt, shared in the official announcement:
“By combining our proprietary technology, carbon-neutral delivery capabilities, and U.S. fulfillment network with Stalco’s proven Canadian operations, we’re creating a powerful platform that simplifies logistics for more merchants.”
With this acquisition, Stalco’s clients gain access to GoBolt’s broader U.S. and Canadian fulfillment network — plus GoBolt Parcel, Canada’s most sustainable last-mile carrier. The partnership unlocks faster delivery times, lower costs, and carbon-neutral shipping options across North America.
What It Means for eCommerce Brands
- Expanded Network Reach: Seamless access to fulfillment centers across the U.S. and Canada
- Sustainability: Carbon-neutral last-mile delivery through GoBolt Parcel EV fleet
- Enhanced Technology: Real-time visibility, analytics, and carrier performance insights
- Continuity: The same trusted Stalco team, now with GoBolt’s tech stack and scale
For brands that have long viewed the Canada–US logistics border as a costly hurdle, this is the kind of partnership that can change the math and the experience of cross-border fulfillment entirely.
Personal Reflection
When I think about Stalco, I think about the people. The team that stayed late to hit same-day cutoffs. The operations leads who knew every client’s product quirks by heart. The leadership team bonding over wakeboarding and good food at Steven Page's cottage in the Muskoka region. The pride in seeing a package labeled, shipped, and delivered to a Canadian customer who might’ve waited weeks if it were shipped from the US.
So to my former colleagues at Stalco: congratulations on this next chapter. You’ve built something that mattered, and it’s exciting to see it live on through GoBolt’s vision.
And to Mark Ang (GoBolt CEO) and Jarrett Stewart (GoBolt SVP Commercial), this is a great move! GoBolt is quickly becoming one of the most forward-thinking fulfillment companies in North America, and with Stalco now in the mix, that foundation just got stronger.
Final Thoughts
We’ve seen a pattern lately, tech-first 3PLs acquiring operationally elite providers to strengthen their fulfillment networks. GoBolt acquiring Stalco fits that perfectly. It’s an expansion and it’s a signal that the future of logistics will belong to those who can marry efficiency, transparency, and sustainability under one roof.
My (slightly biased) grade for this acquisition?
