Positions are available across Langley Research Center, Johnson Space Center, and White Sands Test Facility supporting equipment, property, supply, and logistics management needs. NASA may fill GS-1640 (Facility Operations Services) and GS-1670 (Equipment Services) positions at the GS-11 through GS-14 levels. Responsibilities will vary by position, grade level, and organizational need.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-11, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: Performing facility/equipment operations or maintenance activities (e.g., scheduling preventative maintenance, performing inspections, drafting SOPs/specifications) and ensuring compliance with standards and policies. OR b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field OR c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field OR d) LL.M., if related OR e) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b), c) and d) above To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Coordinating facility/equipment programs or projects (e.g., defining scope, selecting methods, executing inspections/assessments) and recommending corrective actions based on findings. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Acting as a senior advisor for facility/equipment programs or projects (e.g., setting technical direction, integrating safety/environmental requirements, overseeing contractor quality and compliance) and resolving complex issues across stakeholders. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Leading complex facility operations/equipment management programs or projects (e.g., providing technical and programmatic leadership, analyzing lifecycle needs, prioritizing requirements, coordinating resources, managing risks); Developing strategies and recommendations to improve operational reliability, efficiency, safety, or mission readiness.
