Scope of Position
The OM and Import Transportation Supervisor will lead, train and mentor the department. She/he will supervise all aspects of the OM and Import Transportation Team, while ensuring the proper and timely movement of freight. Proactive communication and superior customer Service is a must.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Order Management
- Oversight of daily operations and follow up on delayed actions in the booking process (missed bookings, COB, etc..)
- Daily review and resolution of EDE messages for customer ASN messages
- Create and delivery monthly KPI reports for each client.
- Maintain SOP’s for OM Clients
- Invoice customers timely and accurately for OM services (when applicable) and ensure rate schedules are updated accurately and timely in CFIT
- Drive data re-use from OM to brokerage and transportation
Transportation
- Manage day to day movement of Air and Ocean Import shipments
- Heavy involvement with T&I process
- Manage and maintain client procedures
- Monitor Department Quality and Compliance
- Operations Backup Support
- Uphold Department Business Plan and Goals
- Define, develop, and document business processes and procedures
- Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to relate to customers and internal employees at all levels
Accounting
- Resolve AJAX items monthly for OM origin branches.
- Management of BNP, AJAX, and Payables Database
- Ensure timely import settlements for revenue recognition
- All accounting issues are closed out timely
Personnel Development
- Obtain at least 52 hours of training per year
- Quarterly training for Sales and branch staff regarding OM product
- Participate in focus meetings with staff
- Employee development through Training and Mentorship
- Teach and exemplify EI culture
- Participate in Employee Reviews
Sales/Marketing
- Active involvement in Pricing and Market Strategy
- Assist in building a strong import based clientele while growing market share
- Active involvement with Client Retention
Service Provider / Customer Relationships
- Build rapport with origin branches, brokers, & customers both “internal” & “external”
- Minimum 5 customer facing call per month
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service in all forms of communication
- Build rapport with local service providers
- Manage Annual Retention Reviews for service providers
Qualifications
- College degree or 2-3 years of Expeditors’ experience
- Excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills and proven interpersonal skills.
- IATA/FIATA
- Hazardous Materials Certification
