Summary

About the Position: This position is located with the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Brigade S3 Operations located at Fort Hood, TX. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Duties

  • Serves as a staff officer in the S-3 for the Army Sustainment Command (ASC). Formulate, evaluate, and coordinate logistics plans and policies.
  • Analyze mission objectives to determine the kind and extent of support required, coordinate with functional representatives to ensure adequate manpower, supplies, equipment and services meet specific requirements.
  • Assist in the establishment of training objectives, master of scenario event listing, and coordinate with internal and external staff in accomplishing tasks and missions.
  • Provide advice to management officials on training and development matters, such as procedures for assessment of training needs; training necessary to support short-and long-term needs; training methods and facilities
  • Monitor and track training requirements and maintain updates in a battalion tasker database; plans, reports and evaluates training requirements.
  • Attend logistics conferences, meetings, seminars, boards and workshops as a briefer to recommend logistics problem resolutions and new or improved techniques, policies, and/or procedures.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
